10 señales para detectar el alcoholismo

Especialista en salud describe las acciones que delatan una conducta adictiva relacionada al consumo excesivo de alcohol

El alcoholismo en México afecta, por lo menos, a 9 millones de adolescentes de entre 12 y 17 años, de acuerdo con un reporte de la Secretaría de Salud publicado en el periódico La Jornada. Aprende a detectar si tu hijo se encuentra en esta situación.

El Doctor Marcos Suffriti, jefe del Servicio de Psiquiatría del Hospital Universitario Austral de Argentina comenta que existen ciertas señales que delatan que la enfermedad está presente en una persona y los enlista a continuación. ¡Conócelos!

1. Beber para hacer frente a los problemas.

2. Beber a escondidas.

3. Acostumbrarse a buscar excusas para beber.

4. Negar el consumo de alcohol en exceso.

5. Enojarse al ser cuestionado sobre el consumo de alcohol.

6. Desadaptarse en una esfera social conocida.

7. Presentar síntomas somáticos sin causa aparente.

8. Tener un temblor de manos inexplicable.

9. Presentar úlceras o gastritis que no responden a tratamientos.

10. Ser víctima de un deterioro cerebral orgánico precoz.

Esta lista es parte de un artículo sobre alcoholismo publicado en la revista Vida, del Hospital Universitario Austral, firmado por el doctor Suffriti. En él también establece las tres etapas en el consumo de alcohol: uso, abuso y dependencia. Comenta que para no llegar a la tercera, es importante mantenerse con una ingesta moderada y esporádica de bebidas embriagantes.

Al pasar a la dependencia, “es casi una regla que las personas que padecen esta enfermedad no pidan ayuda a un especialista por iniciativa propia, sino hasta que sus familiares los exhortan a iniciar un tratamiento”, aseguró el doctor en entrevista para el sitio de Internet Infobae.com.

Suffriti agregó también que el alcoholismo es una enfermedad para toda la vida. “Esto implica que cuando una persona desea abandonar la adicción, debe comprometerse diariamente, por siempre”, dijo.
